Christopher Allen Lloyd (born October 22, 1938) [1] is an American actor, voice actor and comedian best known for his roles as Emmett "Doc" Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy , Judge Doom in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Merlock the Magician in DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990), Uncle Fester in The Addams Family (1991) and its sequel Addams Family Values (1993), and Grigori Rasputin in Anastasia (1997).

Christopher Lloyd is an American TV screenwriter and producer. Lloyd is co-creator and executive producer of the TV series Modern Family , which he produces with Steven Levitan . Prior to that, Lloyd had an extensive career on many series, primarily Frasier . He has won 12 Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on Modern Family and Frasier . He currently holds the record for winning the most Primetime Emmy awards as either a comedy or drama series producer. [1]

Born in Stamford, Connecticut, on October 22, 1938, Christopher Lloyd began acting as an apprentice in summer stock at age 14 and appeared in more than 200 stage productions before working in film. Lloyd made his big-screen debut in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975), which won five Academy Awards, including for best picture. He also starred in the commercially successful Back to the Future films as the eccentric Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown. One of Lloyd's more famous television roles was as "Reverend" Jim Ignatowski on the hit series Taxi .
